The balloon was launched at 5:30 JST on July 31, 2026, from the Port of Ofunato in Iwate Prefecture. The 8-meter-diameter balloon carried a 40-kilogram gondola with measurement equipment. After reaching 4 km of altitude the flight was terminated, after which the payload descended by parachute and splashed down in the Pacific Ocean approximately 20 kilometers southeast of the launch site.
