Purpose of the flight and payload description

This flight was part of the development of the COLIBRI program by the UK-based company B2SPACE. Colibri is a launch concept based on a stratospheric balloon, capable of lifting a rocket launcher to altitudes of 35 km to perform a controlled launch of the rocket from that altitude, saving around 80% propellant and cost compared to current launch systems. It is based in a well known launch scheme very popular in the 1950 decade called "Rockoon". The Colibri launcher is planned to be capable in the future of launching a small satellite (up to 150 kg) to low earth orbit.

The balloon mission served to test control and stabilization capabilities of the High Altitude Platform to be used for the future Colibri Launcher.
