Purpose of the flight and payload description

The objective of the flight was to test the behaviour of a superpressure balloon at sunrise, as part of a future system for long-distance voyages.

The balloon was launched from the Taiki Aerospace Research Field, in the Hokkaido island, on June 1st., 2011 at 23:01 local time. For the launch, two weather balloons were attached to the superpressure one and towed it to float altitude.
