The 300,000 m3 balloon with a total lift of 1.2 ton was successfully launched at 6:19 jst on 5 September 2008 using the semi-dynamic method based on the sliding launcher platform.

Following a nominal ascent phase it reached the level altitude of 41.2 km and after a while the payload was separated from the balloon and recovered on the sea.
